Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing, moving, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and to process register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform garment alterations, including adjusting sleeves, backs, sides, collars, bodices, shoulder pads, waists, hems, lengths, and cuffs.
• Make minor garment repairs, such as replacing buttons, mending seams, and replacing hems.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience and prioritize the customer.
• Advise customers on garment fit and care.
• Write alteration tickets documenting the requested work.
• Press and steam garments before returning them to customers.
• Maintain knowledge of styles, fits, and fabrics to serve customers effectively.
• Maintain records for the alterations department.
• Inform the team leader or CSX manager of daily supply needs.
• Perform complex customer fittings as needed.
• Follow shortage programs and procedures.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Operate sewing machines and perform basic maintenance on them.
