Retail Store Tailor
About The Position
The Retail Store Tailor- alterations role supports the customer experience by helping ensure each guest receives a customized final product that looks attractive, fits well, and feels right. The tailor assists with selling by greeting and interacting with customers, responding to special requests, and applying alterations expertise and customer-service skills to mark, alter, and press selected garments. The role also involves answering customer questions, ensuring customers are properly sized, suggesting wardrobe ensembles, maintaining communication with management, assisting teammates, and keeping the tailor shop clean and organized. The position is with Men’s Wearhouse, a division of Tailored Brands. There may be an opportunity to voluntarily work across multiple store or site locations and brands.
Requirements
- Good technical skill.
- Sound knowledge of various types of sewing equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team attitude and enthusiasm.
- Proficiency in basic and advanced alterations of men’s tailored clothing.
Nice To Haves
- Formal training in tailoring is preferred.
- Experience as a tailor for menswear is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Help ensure garments fit properly.
