About The Position

Requirements

• MFA in Sculpture or a closely related field, conferred by the time of appointment.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduates.
• Extensive knowledge of techniques and theory relevant to sculpture, ceramics, and contemporary studio practice.
• Active exhibition and research record.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Submit official transcripts prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach six undergraduate courses per academic year.
• Cover course offerings in Sculpture and 3D Design, preferably including ceramics, digital fabrication, computer modeling for laser and 3D printing, and other courses aligned with departmental needs and the candidate’s skill set.
• Maintain, operate, and develop the sculpture and ceramics studios, including overseeing a safe working environment, managing supplies and equipment, and supervising work-study students.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate students, including actively participating in supervision of BA and BFA capstone projects.
• Contribute to departmental growth through activities such as curriculum development, recruitment, and programming.
• Provide committee and other service at the Department, College, and/or University level.
• Maintain an active exhibition and research record.
