About The Position
Hero Practice Services delivers quality dental, vision, and orthodontic care to children in underserved communities at 30+ offices across seven states. Working at Hero or one of its affiliated practices is both a career and a calling. We are currently seeking an Optician to join our pediatric vision business. This position will be at-will, meaning either the employer or the employee may terminate the employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.
Requirements
- At least one year of previous experience as an optician
- Experience and interest in working with children
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
Nice To Haves
- ABO certification a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist our pediatric patients and families in selecting eyeglass frames that match their prescription
- Confirm proper frame fits and adjustments
- Work with glasses and contact orders and quotes
- Educate patients and families on frame options and coatings
- Help with frame repairs and troubleshooting
- Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
- Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children
