About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their store, ensuring it runs smoothly and effectively. This includes managing all aspects of store operations, such as scheduling, customer service, marketing, merchandising, inventory, financial reporting, and safety. The role involves managing, developing, and motivating store employees, as well as developing business strategies to meet goals and increase sales in a competitive marketplace. The manager will grow the company’s market share by selling to large, commercial users like paint contractors, and retail customers. The typical schedule is 48 hours per week, which may include evenings and/or weekends. This position is eligible for performance-based bonuses and a range of health, security, retirement, and saving benefits. Additional benefits include a generous time away from work package, encompassing personal leave, paid parental leave, medical leave, vacation, and holidays. The job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise, which may be supervised or unsupervised. A criminal history review is necessary to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in a retail, sales, or customer service position

Nice To Haves

  • Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Have work experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (“CRM”) systems
  • Have an associate's degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience as an Assistant Store or Branch Operations Manager for Sherwin-Williams
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of their store, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively
  • Manage all aspects of store operations, including scheduling, customer service, marketing, merchandising, inventory, financial reporting, and safety
  • Manage, develop, and motivate store employees
  • Develop business strategies to meet goals and increase sales in a competitive marketplace
  • Grow the company’s market share by selling to large, commercial users, such as paint contractors, as well as retail customers
  • Develop business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to store employees
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations
  • Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Complete store administration
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards, including promotional packages and sales floor displays
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting as required
  • Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  • Respond to and resolve any customer and/or employee complaints
  • Partner with Sales Reps to make outside sales calls to increase market share
