About The Position

Summit Property Management is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for a community in the Kingwood Area (Houston)! This role involves conducting repairs on building exteriors, grounds, mechanical systems, and plumbing systems. The supervisor will establish and maintain schedules for routine maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, painting, and turnover work. A key responsibility is implementing and following a preventive maintenance program and supervising all contract work to ensure quality. The role also ensures vacated apartments are ready for showing and renting, serves as an on-call emergency maintenance contact, and operates the property within the established budget, notifying the Community Manager of any expected variations. The supervisor will maintain an updated inventory of property tools, furniture, and accessories and attend trade association meetings and seminars when possible. Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a multi-family environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; college-level/trade school preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, all major appliances, pool, and spa equipment, and other community systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency preferred
  • RealPage/Sight Plan experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for candidates holding the following certifications: CAMT, boiler license, EPA, CPO, electrical, plumbing, and first aid.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct repair of: the building exterior, grounds, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, etc.
  • Establish, assign, and maintain schedules for routine maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, painting, and turnover work, among other tasks.
  • Implement and follow a preventive maintenance program
  • Supervise all contract work to ensure the quality of the work completed
  • Ensure vacated apartments are in “make ready” condition for showing and renting
  • Serve as on-call emergency maintenance contact as scheduled at night or on weekends, and ensure compliance of the service team
  • Operate the property within the established budget and notify the Community Manager of any expected variations
  • Keep an ongoing and updated inventory of the property tools, furniture & accessories
  • Attend, when possible, all trade association meetings and seminars
