About The Position

The Storyland Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance of the Storyland facility, including its grounds and exhibits. This role involves preparing Storyland for daily public opening, conducting daily walk-throughs to ensure all exhibits are in working condition, and performing general maintenance on Storyland exhibits. Key responsibilities include daily cleaning and repair of fountains, including pumps and nozzles, and comprehensive water feature maintenance such as chlorination, draining, and pressure washing fountain and pool areas. The technician will also perform light carpentry repair on facility buildings and structures when necessary, and general property maintenance, including light landscaping and overall property upkeep and cleaning. Maintaining the cleanliness of park grounds is a core duty. The position requires the ability to safely operate company vehicles, assist managers, mechanics, and general staff as needed, and communicate daily with supervisors regarding projects and any potentially hazardous safety conditions. Providing exceptional guest service, answering guest questions, and assisting park guests are also essential aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • A valid Louisiana driver’s license.
  • Must be able to use power tools.
  • Possess basic carpentry skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and take initiative on identifying and following through on repairs needed.

Responsibilities
