The Front Desk Agent is responsible for cordially greeting and communicating with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel. This role involves assisting with pre-registration and blocking reservations, accurately posting all charges, and managing cash handling, including receiving payments and making change. The agent must have a complete working knowledge of the Front Office computer or manual system, understand hotel rates and discounts, and be proficient in reservations procedures, including same-day bookings and cancellation policies. The position requires a high work ethic, self-initiative, and the ability to work as part of a team to provide excellent guest experiences.
