About The Position

Aston Carter is seeking a Medical & Dental Front Desk Receptionist for a contract-to-hire position in Spring Valley, NY. This full-time role involves greeting patients, managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, handling patient information in EMR systems, coordinating provider schedules, assisting with administrative processes, and maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience as a medical, dental, or healthcare receptionist
  • Experience with EMR systems and appointment scheduling software
  • Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance‑related tasks
  • Strong data entry, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient privacy, accuracy, and professionalism
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Answer and manage a high volume of phone calls with exceptional customer service
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and adjust appointments to support efficient provider workflows
  • Accurately enter, update, and manage patient information within EMR and scheduling systems
  • Coordinate daily provider schedules to ensure smooth patient flow and minimal wait times
  • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other medical/dental administrative processes
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to address patient needs
  • Support general front‑desk, clerical, and office operations as needed
