About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• California applicants must obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA within 120 days of hire and maintain it throughout employment; failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation from the company.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and encourage participants, their families, families of choice, and natural supports to actively support participants’ recovery plans.
• Provide supporters with information, education, and resources to help them support their loved one.
• Promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture and integrate participants’ and supporters’ viewpoints and preferences into services and self-help programming.
• Respond to critical situations using engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment during behavioral health emergencies.
