About The Position
A late-stage, venture-backed enterprise AI company is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the services behind its AI agents. Because the agents interact with people in real time, latency and reliability are central to the product. Mural Group is recruiting for this role on behalf of a client.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
- Experience with gRPC and REST API design.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL schema design and query tuning.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience building AI or virtual agent systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with queues and distributed orchestration.
- Python experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
Responsibilities
- Design and scale the backend for agent products.
- Work with ML and frontend engineers to bring agents into production.
- Reduce latency and improve reliability on high-volume services.
- Handle large data volumes efficiently and safely.
- Share on-call responsibility for the services owned.
