About The Position

OTSI (Object Technology Solutions, Inc) has an immediate opening for a Power Platform Developer. This is an onsite role where the developer will be responsible for designing, building, configuring, testing, deploying, and maintaining solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform. The role involves developing reusable components, scripts, and frameworks to automate manual administrative processes. The developer will partner with Business Analysts to identify opportunities by analyzing business problems, processes, and data, and will document technical designs and project documentation. A key responsibility includes creating Power BI reports using DAX or M, integrating multiple data sources, and collaborating with colleagues, customers, and third parties throughout the development and QA process. The role also involves deploying projects, troubleshooting issues, and establishing standards and best practices for Power Platform solutions, including governance and operating models. The developer will collect and interpret data, analyze results, and report findings. A passion for staying current with technology trends, experimenting with new technologies, and mentoring others is encouraged. Project estimation, progress communication, and the creation of Virtual Agents for user assistance are also part of the role. Other work as assigned will be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Engineering, or related fields or relevant equivalent experience and certifications.
  • At least four years of related experience.
  • Hands on experience on with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Dataverse, PowerBI, etc.) or other low-code / no-code platforms is preferred.
  • Programming or development experience (R, Python, Java, .Net, C#, Visual Basic, etc.) preferably on automation and/or integration projects is preferred.
  • Ability to work on basic-to-moderately complex programming assignments.
  • General understanding of APIs, command line, client server architecture, networks, and (S)FTP.
  • Ability to participate constructively in work teams to facilitate and implement improvements to operations, maintenance and business practices.
  • Ability to understand business process workflow diagrams or procedural documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues and third parties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or similar applications a plus.
  • Background in machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, configure, test, deploy and maintain solutions built within the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Develop reusable components, scripts and frameworks designed to replicate manual administrative processes.
  • Partner with Business Analysts to lead internal stakeholders to identify opportunities by analyzing and understanding business problems, processes and data.
  • Document technical designs, release notes, and other project documentation to support development, security, operations, and maintenance.
  • Create Power BI reports using DAX or M, utilizing multiple data sources with different permissions and structures to provide a seamless end-user experience.
  • Iteratively collaborate across colleagues, customers and third-parties during product development and QA to make sure it fits design and solves business problems.
  • Deploy projects successfully and problem-solve issues that arise in day-to-day support by providing timely responses and solutions as required.
  • Help develop standards and best practices for solutions built within the power platform including governance, operating model and solutions.
  • Collect and interpret data, analyze results and report findings to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends and best practices: experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in community of practice groups, and mentor other members of the community.
  • Estimate projects based on scope and level of effort, provide timely communication of progress and completion.
  • Create Virtual Agents to assist users with smaller tasks or scale for repeated tasks for the broader department.
  • Perform other work as assigned.
