Senior Safety Coordinator

About The Position
Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to join its Safety team on a project in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. This is a full-time, in-person position. The Senior Safety Coordinator leads safety execution for major project scopes, mentors junior safety staff, and serves as a key safety leader within the project team. The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and consistent program delivery across complex operations.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- Competent Person training, such as cranes, rigging, or NFPA 70E.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of relevant construction safety experience is preferred.
- OSHA 500 is preferred.
- BCSP certification (ASP, CSP, or CHST) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety efforts for major scopes, trades, or phases of work.
- Review and approve critical Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Mentor and develop Assistant and Safety Coordinators.
- Serve as a primary safety contact for project leadership, trade partners, and clients.
- Facilitate safety meetings, training, and key project safety initiatives.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, accountability, and engagement.
