Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement: Completion of a Dietary Management Certificate Course; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum experience requirement: 3 years of Food Service Management experience; 5 years preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, dietary operations, inventory management, and budgeting
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and resident-centered care

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Department, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and departmental performance
  • Supervise meal production and service to ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and served according to resident dietary needs
  • Develop menus, maintain standardized recipes, manage inventory, and monitor food and supply costs
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, OSHA requirements, infection control practices, and facility policies
  • Educate, mentor, and support dietary staff while fostering a positive and engaging work environment
  • Maintain equipment, temperature logs, safety records, and departmental documentation
  • Address resident concerns and grievances related to dietary services and ensure timely resolution
  • Participate in facility surveys, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Provide leadership and direction during emergency situations
