About The Position
The Mountain West’s premier ski and bike shop, Switchback Sports, is hiring full-time Ski Technician and Bike Mechanic. Be part of a fun team who sets the standard in our ski industry. We're looking for professional individuals with excellent customer service and attention to detail who thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. We believe that an impeccable customer experience starts and ends with a happy and passionate staff. We are a company of like-minded individuals who value time spent in the outdoors above all. We offer a free ski pass to full time employees, and structure our schedule with morning and afternoon shifts to allow our staff to ski 3-5 days a week, every week, while working a full time position. Our size and structure allow for plentiful growth opportunities within our company for those who want a career that balances success with a passion for the outdoor industry. Our management team thrives on nurturing staff within our organization into positions of success, while having a great time doing it.
Requirements
- Previous ski and bike mechanic experience and knowledge.
- Ability to be autonomous, prioritize workday, multitask and be detail-oriented.
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work both independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and take direction well.
- Acceptable appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to create an excellent customer and team experience.
- Good time management skills.
- A sense of urgency and ability to hustle.
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for properly taking in all service work including correctly filling out service work orders, scheduling an appropriate amount of repairs and completing repairs in a timely manner.
- Performs all service work required and requested by the customer
- Assists customers in an enthusiastic and courteous manner
- Advises and assists customers and employees with all their repair needs and questions.
- Communicates with manager, rental and warranty part needs.
- Develops and maintains knowledge expertise of all merchandise in department to effectively assist customers with accurate information; keeps current as new product lines are introduced.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
