About The Position

The Bike and Snow Shop Mechanic is a member of the retail store Shop team who assembles REI equipment, performs shop services, and provides customer service in the shop and on the sales floor. The role services and repairs bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards and may include work in the rental department. Mechanics share product and service knowledge with customers, help ensure equipment is fitted and maintained correctly, and contribute to an inclusive, safe, and welcoming outdoor retail experience.

Requirements

Demonstrated technical skills and proficiency.
Complete required training and certifications.
Set practical goals and establish priorities to achieve business goals.
Organize and use resources to meet deadlines, and communicate plans and progress.
Ability to transfer 40 pounds.
Enjoy communicating and building relationships inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

Assess customer needs and assist with transactions.
Participate in REI Sales and Service Training and promote REI goods and services.
Assemble REI equipment and service and repair bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards.
Maintain equipment and keep the work environment clean, secure, and safe.
Produce quality work that meets or exceeds industry standards.
Report quality and safety issues to shop managers.
Follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures.
Work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
