About The Position

REI Co-op is seeking a Bike and Ski Shop Mechanic to help customers enjoy the outdoors by sharing product and service knowledge, making recommendations, and providing customer service in the shop and on the sales floor. The mechanic assembles REI equipment and services and repairs bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards. The role may include work in the rental department. The mechanic is part of the retail store Shop team and contributes to a clean, secure, and safe work environment. The position requires a flexible schedule based on business needs and the ability to transfer 40 pounds.

Requirements

Demonstrated technical skills and proficiency.
Ability to complete required training and certifications.
Ability to set practical goals and establish priorities to achieve business goals.
Ability to organize and use resources to meet deadlines, and communicate plans and progress.
Ability to transfer 40 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Assess customer needs and assist with transactions.
Participate in REI Sales and Service Training and promote REI goods and services.
Assemble equipment and service and repair bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards.
Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, secure, and safe work environment.
Produce quality work that meets or exceeds industry standards.
Report quality and safety issues to shop managers.
Follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures.
Complete required training and certifications.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
