About The Position
The Bike and Ski Shop Mechanic is a member of REI’s retail store Shop team, helping customers create better outdoor experiences through product knowledge, recommendations, and daily engagement. The role includes assembling REI equipment, providing shop services, and delivering exceptional customer service in the shop and on the sales floor. The mechanic services and repairs bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards. The position may also include work in the rental department. The mechanic assesses customer needs, supports transactions, promotes REI products and services, and maintains equipment and a clean, secure, and safe work environment. They produce quality work, report quality and safety issues to shop managers, and follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures. The schedule is flexible based on business needs, and other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical skills and proficiency.
- Complete required training and certifications.
- Ability to set practical goals and establish priorities to achieve business goals.
- Ability to organize and use resources to meet deadlines, and communicate plans and progress.
- Ability to transfer 40 pounds.
- Enjoy communicating and building relationships inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities
