About The Position

Motivate is seeking Bike Mechanics to assist with bike assembly, maintenance, and repair. Training in technical and unique aspects of bikeshare bikes will be provided. Starting schedules are 2–3 days per week, including weekend days, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Schedules may change as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on business needs.

The role involves completing bike maintenance, inspections, and repairs professionally and promptly, with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety. Work takes place indoors at a bike repair depot or outdoors in the field on an assigned route. Mechanics record repairs using a smartphone, manage repair tools and supplies, follow standard operating procedures and repair methods, and comply with safety protocols.

Requirements

• Be mechanically inclined and comfortable completing repairs.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Be willing to work both outdoors, traveling by bike throughout the station network, and indoors in bike repair depots.
• Be dependable and able to work scheduled shifts, including off hours and/or weekends as needed.
• Be able to lift and push or pull up to 75 pounds, and stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods during a work shift.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience and familiarity with bicycles or similar mechanical repairs is a plus.
