Volunteer Coordinator Jobs

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator ensures Harvesters’ protein pack room (PPR) packs product efficiently and follows USDA guidelines. The role performs daily pre-operational checks, ensures the room is cleaned according to USDA guidelines, keeps supplies stocked in partnership with the VEC Manager, operates and troubleshoots equipment, reports maintenance issues, follows USDA inspector directives, and directs volunteer groups on projects as needed. The coordinator may be required to lead the PPR when needed, at an increased rate of pay. In that capacity, the coordinator monitors temporary staff for compliance with USDA guidelines and established processes, procedures, and policies; promotes efficient and productive work; and verifies that required documentation is completed accurately. The work takes place in an office, cold room, and warehouse environment. It involves use of general office and packaging equipment, extensive standing and walking, occasional heavy lifting of 20–50 pounds, and frequent light lifting of 5–20 pounds. The position also uses material-handling equipment, including walk-behind and riding pallet jacks and gas and electric forklifts. The role requires understanding and complying with Harvesters food-safety policies and procedures. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with occasional overtime.
