About The Position
This position requires the ability to resolve a wide variety of technical challenges, directly supporting day to day operation and maintenance of the commissioned fleet. These challenges are limited in scope, but provide direct benefit to the fleet. In addition to these shorter term tasks, an engineer in this position will also have the opportunity to act as the engineer on tasks to support fleet modernization and increased capability. Engineers oversee all aspects of the tasks, including funding approval, ship check visits, overall technical quality, maintaining schedules, awareness of budgets, and interfacing with other engineering and design disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical, marine, materials, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
- 0-5 years of engineering experience post graduation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in mechanical, marine, materials, aerospace engineering
- Experience with project management, obsolescence management, or planning
- Technical writing experience
- U.S. Navy experience
