Sr. Systems Design Engineer
About The Position
AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Systems Design Engineer to develop chip, package, and board power delivery network (PDN) models and run simulations to verify supply noise, impedance, and transient response. The role defines power integrity (PI) requirements, specifications, and decoupling strategies for major power rails; debugs and identifies root causes of PI issues during bring-up, validation, and production; and correlates silicon measurements with simulations to refine models. The engineer collaborates with architecture, silicon, package, and board teams to deliver system-aware PI solutions and improves PI methodologies, automation flows, and analysis processes. No travel is required. Multiple openings are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- One year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Experience with PDN fundamentals, power delivery design, and PI analysis.
- Experience with PI simulation tools including RedHawk, Voltus, SIwave, Sigrity, and SPICE.
- Knowledge of silicon, packaging, and PCB power delivery constraints.
- Experience analyzing lab measurements and correlating them with models.
- Scripting or automation proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Tcl.
