Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring Systems Design Engineers to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role involves applying electronic theory and engineering principles to design complete, complex frameworks, systems, or products; define technical platform processes and system specifications; and establish hardware and software compatibility parameters. Engineers may conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, identify and resolve system design weaknesses, and contribute to architectures used across multiple products or systems. The position also provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives and evaluates process flows from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. The engineer will define products and develop solutions, assess root causes, resolve issues, and debug problems during SoC bring-up, validation, and production. Work is of moderate scope and involves analyzing a variety of factors. Under supervision, the engineer uses limited judgment within established company procedures to choose methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. The role applies knowledge of computers and electronics, design techniques, tools, and principles to the design, development, and testing of AMD products. Travel is not required. This posting is for an existing vacancy, and there are multiple openings.
