Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring a Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies knowledge of electronic theory, engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products. The engineer designs complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products; defines technical platform processes, system specifications, and hardware or software compatibility parameters; conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes; and identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses. The position contributes to architectures used across multiple products or systems, provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives, and evaluates process flows from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. The position addresses problems of moderate scope. Under supervision and within defined company procedures and practices, the engineer uses limited judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. Multiple openings are available. Travel is not required.
