Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring a Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies electronic theory and engineering knowledge to design complex frameworks, systems, or products; define technical platform processes and system specifications; establish input/output and operating parameters for hardware and software compatibility; and conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. The engineer identifies and resolves system design weaknesses, contributes to architectures used across multiple products or systems, and provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives. The position evaluates process flow from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. Work is on problems of moderate scope and is performed under supervision, with limited judgment within established company procedures and practices. The role applies knowledge of computers, electronics, engineering principles, design techniques, tools, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products. No travel is required. This posting is for an existing vacancy, with multiple openings.
