Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is hiring a Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies electronic theory and engineering principles to AMD product design, development, and testing. It involves designing complex frameworks, systems, or products; defining technical platform processes, system specifications, and hardware/software compatibility parameters; and developing system interfaces and business application prototypes. The engineer identifies and resolves system design weaknesses, contributes to architectures used across multiple products or systems, and provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives. The role evaluates process flows from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power analysis. It also develops and maintains automated test scripts and automates system validation. The work is of moderate scope and is performed under supervision, using defined company procedures and practices to select methods and evaluation criteria. Travel is not required. Multiple openings are available.
