Sr. Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Systems Design Engineer to design semiconductor components, software, products, and systems. The role contributes to identifying design bugs and firmware dependencies, designs complex frameworks, systems, or products, and defines technical-platform processes, system specifications, input/output, and hardware and/or software compatibility parameters. The engineer conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes, analyzes and resolves design weaknesses, and helps shape architecture used across multiple products or systems. The position provides multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation initiatives and evaluates process flows from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. The work involves problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of a variety of factors, and applying knowledge of computers, electronics, engineering principles, design techniques, tools, and technologies to AMD product design, development, and testing. Travel is not required.
