MTS Systems Design Engineer
About The Position
AMD, Inc. is hiring an MTS Systems Design Engineer to integrate silicon devices into products and develop server solutions at the rack and datacenter level. The role designs and implements cooling solutions, delivers commercially viable products in a timely and cost-effective manner, and performs pre-silicon work including mechanical definition and design. It also involves defining and designing mechanical features, developing package technology, and conducting mechanical modeling and tolerance analysis. The engineer develops server-level architectures and systems for specific AMD markets, plans and executes tests, characterizes and analyzes data, and designs and characterizes customer and reference systems. Travel is not required. Multiple openings are available.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and three years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Three years of experience with product development cycles.
- Three years of experience developing mechanical solutions at the silicon, package, and system level for semiconductor products.
- Three years of experience with SolidWorks and Creo CAD.
- Three years of experience with structural aspects of mechanical design, including statistical analysis, structural analysis, finite element analysis, and tolerance analysis.
- Three years of experience with design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Three years of experience with thermal mechanical testing.
