MTS Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role involves overseeing definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development; determining architecture and logic design; and conducting system simulation. The engineer defines module interfaces and simulation formats and contributes to multidimensional designs involving complex integrated-circuit layouts. The position evaluates process flow from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. It works with cross-functional engineering teams on ASIC and layout design, including complex issues requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors. The engineer drives projects or processes of significant technical importance, independently selects methods and evaluation criteria, and applies engineering principles and broad electronics knowledge to resolve complex issues and design, develop, and test AMD products. Travel is not required. This posting is for an existing vacancy, with multiple openings. The position requires a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
