MTS Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role oversees definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development, including architecture and logic design, system simulation, and defining module interfaces and formats for simulation. It leads multidimensional design work involving complex integrated circuit layouts and evaluates the process flow from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. The engineer works with cross-functional teams on ASIC and layout design, leads projects or processes of significant technical importance, and exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. The role applies knowledge of electronics, engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to resolve complex issues and to design, develop, and test AMD products. Travel is not required. Multiple openings are available.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Three years of experience with hardware verification methodology and techniques, including simulation, debug, coverage, and formal.
  • Three years of experience with simulation and debug using a Verilog-based functional simulator.
