About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join its Mechanical Systems design team within the Mechanical Systems, Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) organization. The position supports next-generation military engine programs through the design and development of complex mechanical systems hardware, including bearing compartments, rotating bearing assemblies, carbon seals, seal plates, oil distribution systems, and coupling shafts. The engineer develops innovative, cost-effective design solutions that satisfy structural, functional, packaging, and maintainability requirements, while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver program commitments. The role is onsite in East Hartford, Connecticut, and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. An active, existing Secret clearance is required after day one. Domestic travel is less than 25%. The position offers a 9/80 work schedule and is eligible for relocation. The MSEN organization designs, develops, and supports power transmission systems, bearing compartments and rotor supports, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, and nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Its technical disciplines include project engineering, mechanical design, structural analysis, product definition, system modeling, analysis of bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling.
