About The Position
The Engineering Supervisor provides technical and administrative assistance to the Chief Engineer and supports operational aspects of the Engineering Department. The role maintains hotel and convention center facilities and equipment, carries out preventive maintenance, monitors utility consumption, and ensures projects are completed to specifications and on time. The supervisor also supports emergency response, safety, inventory, cleanliness, and department operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional and courteous service at all times.
- Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment systems, convention center spaces, air-conditioning units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, and other facilities and equipment.
- Monitor electric, gas, and water consumption.
- Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and on time.
- Understand and follow lockout-tagout procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Perform guestroom and public-area preventive maintenance services as outlined for the hotel.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and maintain logs properly.
- Immediately report safety and security concerns to the Chief Engineer or Manager on Duty.
- Ensure key inventories are secure.
- Respond to emergency situations and be prepared to assist.
- Participate in ongoing maintenance programs for event space, public space, kitchens, and convention center equipment.
- Perform inventory duties as required.
- Maintain clean grounds and attractive landscaping.
- Keep workspaces and storage areas clean and orderly.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Complete projects as determined by the Chief Engineer.
