About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
• Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
• Experience in networking across departments and programs.
• Ability to communicate and work with the population.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in counseling and two years' experience in Career Services or Career Counseling related to Liberal Arts disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Interface with students as they seek guidance concerning employment, career development, internships, graduate school, and career related issues.
• Analyze student’s career paths, initiate career assessments, provide advice on resume development, interview preparation, and offer internship and job search resources.
• Develop and conduct workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, assess and report data on effectiveness and implement changes needed to engage and enhance student preparedness for the workplace, including UCRS 2100 career courses.
• Work cooperatively with faculty, the Career Center Employer Development and Outreach Team to utilize more companies and alumni from a broad range of industries to engage with students on campus, and other staff with event, programming, and mentor management.
• Develop ongoing relationships and work cooperatively with faculty and administration in assigned areas.
• Develop reports on the statistical data for all student engagement and programming for assigned area(s) of responsibility to be used for the Career Center data collection.
