About The Position
Gordon Food Service is the largest family-operated broadline food distribution company in North America, with over 125 years of experience delivering excellence, expertise, and quality products to food service customers. As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships, developing new business, and providing innovative solutions to customers in your assigned territory. This role is based in San Antonio, TX.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
- Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain food safety certification
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate
Responsibilities
- Pursuing new customers by researching industry and market trends, identifying prospective customers, and developing and presenting sales strategies.
- Deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships through regular visits, business reviews, and providing ongoing training on product offerings.
- Identifying opportunities within existing customers' businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings.
- Managing the sales territory by balancing new customer acquisition with existing customer relationship management.
- Coordinating visits to prospective and existing customers.
- Communicating order status and order processing updates to customers.
