About The Position

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, with at least 2 of them in hospice nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and knowledge of hospice regulations, documentation standards, and quality practices.
• Clinical assessment and hospice nursing expertise
• Staff supervision and coaching
• Scheduling and workforce management
• Critical thinking and clinical decision-making
• Communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Regulatory compliance and documentation management
• EMR and QAPI proficiency

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support NEWT RNs and LPNs while providing oversight to CNAs, Social Workers, and Chaplains.
• Coordinate staffing schedules and support payroll processes.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members, including conducting performance evaluations.
• Oversee interdisciplinary care delivery and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care during scheduled shifts and periods of high patient volume.
• Partner with leadership and quality teams to support compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
