The Quality Manager's primary directive involves coordinating activities both internally and externally as related to the meeting of customer's expectations. This role is responsible for formulating and maintaining quality assurance objectives to corporate policies and goals, coordinating TS16949 quality system documentation, maintenance and follow-up for the facility, and investigating and addressing customer complaints regarding quality through CARs. The manager will review test and inspection reports, direct corrective action for non-conforming material, and ensure complete records on quality issues are maintained with specifications and manuals up to date. This position requires a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards, and involves daily and weekend overtime, as well as travel. The role also includes understanding BIC Key performance indicators, developing and implementing corrective actions, driving lean principles, managing the Quality Department (including Quality Engineer and Quality Supervisor), ensuring good communication across shifts and departments, participating in problem-solving, VSM, and Kaizen projects, implementing SOT’s and standard work, auditing for standard work, quality, and HSE, and training, disqualifying, qualifying, and auditing teammate performance.
