About The Position

The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations in relation to payroll and insurance programs. This role involves meticulous record-keeping, document preparation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to resolve compliance issues efficiently and professionally. The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be combined with education to meet the requirements.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and compliance, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HR, finance, and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Processes weekly and monthly Certified Payroll and Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) reports, maintaining accurate records of all related documents.
  • Leads the preparation of specialized compliance documents related to payroll, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.
  • Manages and responds promptly to customer and department emails related to payroll compliance, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Proofreads documents, contracts, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, ensuring all materials are error-free and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Provides support on payroll projects, contributing to the successful implementation and management of payroll initiatives.
