Requirements

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or a minimum 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform is strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs and generating system reports is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Sage/QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office, SharePoint, LMS systems, and mobile technology.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation functions, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Administer end‑to‑end payroll processing for all hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations
  • Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and benefit changes
  • Support employee benefit plan administration, including enrollments, terminations, life event changes, reconciliations, vendor communications, and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute payroll reports; maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with legal retention requirements
  • Coordinate payroll tax filings and statutory remittances, including T4 preparation and year‑end reporting
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely and confidential manner
  • Serve as a super user for the Company's HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems, supporting reporting, system maintenance, back-end configuration, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with the People Development Manager to ensure systems are optimized, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives and business needs.
  • Maintain payroll, benefits, and HRIS procedures and documentation; provide guidance and training to managers and employees on system processes as required.
  • Generate and analyze payroll, workforce, benefits, and HRIS reports to support operational decision-making, compliance requirements, audits, and departmental initiatives.
  • Process vendor invoices by matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation; review for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Code and post accounts payable transactions in the ERP system; ensure proper GL coding and documentation standards are met
  • Assist with payment planning, cash flow coordination, and vendor communication to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Perform corporate credit card reconciliations and follow up on debit balances and outstanding items
  • Support month‑end procedures, reconciliations, and other accounting functions as required
  • Maintain electronic records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and audit standards
