About The Position

Requirements

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
• Work closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator functions and reception areas.
• Use a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate with the population served using age-specific techniques, from neonatal through geriatric populations.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects or other assignments within the specified timeframe.
