About The Position

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of experience with insurance plan payment practices and billing requirements preferred.
• Two years of experience with electronic health record information technology preferred.
• Two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Good spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to keyboard by touch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to respond to varied circumstances with compassion, patience, and flexibility, including difficult circumstances.
• Ability to work within established time frames while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness and ability to learn new software programs as needed.
• Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate registration, authorization, and information processing for Emergency Department services.
• Gather demographic, clinical, and financial information in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support patients’ interactions with John Muir healthcare services.
