About The Position
This position is within the State Attorney's Office, 18th Circuit, Felony Division, located at the Moore Justice Center in Viera. The Witness Coordinator I is responsible for managing communications and logistics for witnesses involved in assigned cases. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in criminal justice, social science, counseling, public contact, or customer service. A Bachelor's degree can substitute for the required experience. The successful candidate will be flexible, highly organized, and willing to perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Experience in the area of criminal justice, social science, counseling, public contact or customer service, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Working knowledge of STAC.
- Working knowledge of the Clerk’s database.
- Working knowledge of Imaging.
- Working knowledge of Word.
- Working knowledge of Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish contact with all witnesses involved on assigned cases and maintain accurate contact information.
- Advise victims and witnesses on the status of trials, placing them on standby and calling them off as necessary.
- Track the availability of witnesses, including law enforcement officers.
- Arrange necessary transportation for witness court appearances.
- Explain the court system and courtroom procedures to individuals participating in court cases.
- Process necessary forms such as witness reimbursement and travel vouchers.
- Generate subpoenas.
- Document all communication and efforts in STAC.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
