About The Position
Provides appropriate oral health services to patients and families. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for dentist's use. Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures including, but not limited to, processing dental radiographs (x-rays).
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Proof of completion after 120 days of continuous employment: A board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act (California) and a board-approved 8-hour course in infection control: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Preferred
Responsibilities
- Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment.
- Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
- Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
- Exposes, develops and mounts dental radiographs.
- Assists the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
- Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
- Participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals.
- Provides patient education materials.
- Maintains an appropriate office environment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
