About The Position

This position is part of a Registered Apprenticeship (RA) Program, designed to prepare the employee to become a qualified Career Navigator through on-the-job training and related technical instruction. Duties include providing workforce services in alignment with the Wagner-Peyser (WP) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs; building and maintaining strong relationships with employers; preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate job orders; matching and referring qualified job seekers to employment opportunities; marketing agency services effectively to employers and job seekers; conducting interviews to assess workforce needs and identifying training or support requirements; and providing referrals to employment, training, and supportive services. On-the-job and related technical instruction will be provided in order to progress through the RA program. This position is designated as a mobile worker role and involves travel across the Commonwealth to deliver services to workforce centers. Overnight or extended travel may be required based on the business need.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of employment interviewing techniques, employment and wage laws and guidelines, and office operations and etiquette.
  • Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software).
  • Ability to interact effectively with employers and the public
  • Ability to discuss, interpret and apply agency standards and procedures
  • Ability to conduct interviews and research
  • Ability to evaluate skill sets and needs
  • Ability to use web-based applications to enter data and conduct database searches
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload.

  • Experience in human resources, community services, workforce services and/or training programs.
