About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of employment.
• Be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

• A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in the Health Care Unit and housing units under RN supervision, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
• Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administer medications (including IV therapy if certified), and perform diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift.
• Follow safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
• Assist with medical or minor surgical procedures and implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
• Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, and follow policies and procedures.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to support high-quality patient care.
