About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The role works with a team of associates supporting residents and building relationships with residents and colleagues. The posting lists Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., and indicates per-diem work as needed across all shifts.

Requirements

• Current state license as an RN.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by the state.
• One to two years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources as required by state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
