About The Position

Care Initiatives is hiring a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) for Heritage Specialty Care, a 171-bed skilled nursing facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The facility has a CCDI unit and became Seasons Memory Care Certified in 2026. The LNHA will join a leadership team that includes a recently hired Assistant Administrator, collaborating with the Administrator and department heads on goals and initiatives to strengthen leadership, promote positive outcomes, support culture, and focus on customer service excellence. Care Initiatives is a nonprofit healthcare organization and the largest single operator of quality nursing homes in Iowa. It operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities, eight hospice offices, and an internal staffing agency. The organization emphasizes exceptional care and support throughout the healthcare journey. The role oversees facility operations and supports teams in delivering quality, resident-centered care and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Hold a valid Iowa Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in good standing, or be able to activate NHA licensure in Iowa.
  • Ability to build relationships and lead a team through change with professionalism and empathy.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven leadership experience in skilled nursing is highly desired.
  • Newly licensed Administrators are supported in their growth and development when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned skilled nursing facility to ensure quality of care and operational excellence.
  • Lead and support teams by fostering collaboration, compassion, continuous improvement, and staff development.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to maintain high-quality resident care and positive outcomes.
  • Promote a strong culture of service, accountability, and resident-centered care.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Administrator and department heads on goals and initiatives, strengthening the leadership team, promoting positive outcomes, helping drive culture, and focusing on customer service excellence.
