About The Position

Requirements

• BS, BA in health care related field or business.
• Epic certification in area of concentration.
• 2 years as an Epic Builder with progressively receiving more responsibility and management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business field or Associate Degree and 10 years’ relevant health care experience.
• Must have worked through two Epic major releases or 2 Epic go-lives (or combination thereof).
• Basic knowledge of principles of software design and modification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Aptitude for details.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Able to mediate conflicts.
• Self-starter.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Maintain meticulous documentation.
• Analytical skills to translate clinical workflow into the functional build process.
• Strong customer service and user support skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Implementation, development, programming, and overall support of clinical systems.
• Work closely with the vendor and end-users to develop and enhance software.
• Thoroughly test all system upgrades and system changes prior to go-live.
• Work with end-users to test and determine the impact of upgrades/changes on workflow and reporting.
• Coordinate test plans, engaging end-users in their development.
• Document changes/updates to test plans and make necessary system changes.
• Act as a liaison between the end-user community and the IT department.
• Express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Express opportunities for improvement and innovative ways to improve the use of clinical systems.
• Teach computer applications to people with varying degrees of computer experience.
• Facilitate complex workflow discussions and collaborate to conclusion.
• Advocate on behalf of The Guthrie Clinic to vendors and drive to solutions.
• Escalate timely both internally and externally with the vendor.
• Understand the national and state HIT direction and this position's role in helping the organization achieve its goals.
