About The Position

Fort Bend County is hiring two part-time Custodians for Facilities Management & Planning. The role involves cleaning and maintaining restroom facilities, floors, windows, office furnishings, floor coverings, and upholstered furniture. Employees may also be directed by appropriate county managers to participate in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster. The position pays $16.00 per hour and offers up to 29 hours per week. The posting closes when both positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Less than a high school diploma or GED.
  • Six months of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning processes and ability to complete tasks within assigned time.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Mop, clean, and disinfect county restroom facilities, including walls, floors, doors, and fixtures.
  • Remove trash from waste containers and replace container liners.
  • Restock restroom supplies.
  • Clean windows and glass surfaces.
  • Sweep, strip, and wax floors.
  • Dust exposed areas on office furnishings and fixtures.
  • Vacuum, clean, and maintain floor coverings and upholstered furniture.
  • Participate in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
