About The Position

The Custodian and Cart Attendant performs general maintenance and cleaning duties, maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance and keeps carts accessible, clean, and in working order. Responsibilities also include cleaning indoor and outdoor club areas, operating maintenance equipment, restocking supplies, and carrying out minor building repairs. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance and may involve working in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; applicants may be younger than 18 for parking lot cart functions.
• Ability to meet the position’s physical demands, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, moving heavier or awkward objects.
• Ability to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt, courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and club exterior.
• Keep carts stocked at the club entrance, clean, and in working order; remove carts unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks, including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance duties efficiently across the club.
• Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and efficiently according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and complete other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Complete required training and certification processes.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support club standards, member service, a safe and positive environment, and teamwork.
