About The Position

The Custodian and Cart Attendant performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts readily available and removing debris from the club’s exterior areas. It also maintains cleanliness throughout the club and outdoor grounds, operates cleaning and material-handling equipment safely, restocks supplies, and performs minor building repairs. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• Ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; moving heavier or awkward objects may require assistance.
• Ability to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt, courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, remove trash and debris from parking lots and cart corrals, and keep carts stocked at the entrance.
• Check carts for cleanliness and working order and remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep receiving dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures, carry out assigned duties, and work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
