About The Position

The Custodian and Cart Attendant performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean, in working order, and readily available. It also maintains cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, parking lot, and cart corrals; removes trash and debris; and returns new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.

The position includes cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets. The attendant maintains outdoor areas, replenishes cleaning supplies, keeps supply spaces organized, and performs minor routine building repairs while notifying management when major repairs may be needed. The role safely operates floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler equipment according to established safety standards, follows club policies and procedures, and may perform other duties or work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions.
• Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward objects may need to be lifted and moved with assistance.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify that they are clean and in working order, and remove unsuitable carts from service.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor club grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler equipment in accordance with established safety standards.
• Restock cleaning and maintenance supplies and keep receiving-dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
